I stopped into Jaques Art Center on a Tuesday. The place is set up for the holidays, complete with hot drinks, candy canes and pastries in one room and the others are flooding with the talent of the local community. There is so much to see and so much I want in my own home. There are great gift ideas from crafts, to art to hand stitched wonders. I absolutely love this Art Center. It went beyond my expectations; not to mention a very cheery staff to boot. I highly recommend anyone looking for unusual gift ideas to stop here, you won't be disappointed.

The Jaques (pronounced jay-KWEE) Art Center is a little hidden gem, tucked away in plain sight, in the cozy little township of Aitkin, Minnesota. A warm, charming art gallery dedicated to the late artist Francis Lee Jaques, it contains some of his original wildlife paintings, as well as some artwork contributed by local artists for sale as well. The lady working at the time my lovely fiance and i visited, Colleen, was really sweet and and gave us wonderful insight of the entire history of the gallery and of ALL of the artists' backgrounds and contributions! Well worth a visit for people and families of ALL walks of life! Highly recommended!

This historic building is just beautiful. The Jaques staff keeps it, and the rotating displays, in prime condition. This is a must see in the Aitkin area - a variety of art forms and unique, high quality items by local crafters and artists of many mediums. Really nice!nMary Wasche

A beautiful building (former Carnegie Library), saved for $1 and lovingly restored by the community. Great artwork by the master and local boy done good, Francis Lee Jaques. Other great artwork by local artists. Cool gift shop and friendly and informative staff!
