I will do my best to keep this short: I was pulled over for going 69 in a 55 BUT I was really going 59 with my cruise control on! I officers radar likely picked up the car atop the hill behind me. Anyhow, I was pulled over & thought I was getting a ticket after hearing the reasoning from the officer. In the end the officer listened to my story and in the end he let me go. I could tell he wasn't sure if I was being honest, which I can understand in his line of duty. Nevertheless, I'm happy the officer was not rude, that he listened to my explanation & in the end did the right thing.

I wanted to take a minute to applaud the kindness and concern and overall dedication of Officer Ryan Giroux of the MSP, Negaunee Post. I recently dealt with Officer Giroux, regarding the case of a young child whose parents were fighting in what I feel was a domestic violence situation and the child was so afraid. He treated the 6 year old child with dignity and respect, and took great care to make sure he was happy and comfortable until a reasonable family member could be found. The child played at my house, with other neighborhood kids to ensure he wasn't too disrupted. Officer Giroux sat outside my house the whole time, ensuring the child was safe, and keeping me and my neighbor (who were immensely concerned for the boys safety and well-being) updated. He was kind to the boy, kind to us and is genuinely the kind of officer every police force needs on their team. I know service personnel don't always get the recognition they deserve most of the time (nor do they ask for it), but Officer Giroux was amazing in this situation. And I am so thankful he was the Officer who responded to my call. Thank you Officer Giroux for being what every police officer should be and for being a light for that little boy and for being so kind and so human. Badge aside, you wanted what we all did and that was peace for that little boy. You, sir, are exactly what law enforcement should be. Thank you for being exemplary of what exactly that means. You are a true asset to the MSP Negaunee Post as well as our community. THANK YOU!
