Approximately 20 years ago I was contacted by the general contractor that remodeled this library. The contractor was looking for a blacksmith that would build the ironwork for the doors from the 1920 drawings. I was lucky that they asked me. It is 100% handmade and 100% steel. When the contractor dismantled the entryway they found that the white spider web windows that were painted white were actually bronze. We polished it like a watch band and put a clear coat on it. So blessed to have been involved with thisud83dudcaa

Checked on some Architecture as well as enjoyed the peace and privacy that can come in a Public Library. A library can be a real soothing experience. It's been a while since I been to a library.

As a homeschooling family, my kids and I LOVE our library! It is such a wonderful resource for people from every walk of life. With what little resources they get, they are still able to make a difference in so many lives.

The staff is very helpful, kind, patient & knowledgeable when u ask questions. The place is neat and organized. The volunteer for the genealogy topic was very kind helpful and gave a lot of good ideas how to search for year family history. Good movies new & old. Copiers available, elevator, cute large children's section, big restroom downstairs with plenty of stalls and very helpful staff downstairs as well. There are volunteers they're also that help people with reading and more...just ask.

I love this library! Part of the original city planning by R.A. Long, and named for him, the library building is a beautiful, and even somewhat a grand architectural expression of Long's dedication to educating the citizens. With what must be one of the larger collections in the area, there's something for everyone. (I just wish there were a few more crafts books.) There's a summertime reading program and events for kids, too. All in all, it's a public jewel to be enjoyed.
