This is one of the most beautiful churches in the country. It’s been years since I visited, and I would love to go back. I’m only sad because I live 500 miles away now.

This is a great place. The Shrine of St. Joseph is current set up of the historic German Catholic Church in Downtown St. Louis. It is run and organized by a group of dedicated volunteers on a weekly basis. The Church was set for demolition in the 1970-80's but was saved by the group, working out a deal with Archdiocese of St. Louis. It is truly stunning inside. There is NO MARBLE too. Keep that in mind. It was a shame the church was abandoned, but it is definitely in good hands with this current group. I would encourage people to go and look at/visit and support this Shrine. It is a true piece of St. Louis History!
