Representative David Reis

Recently I had an issue with a gun purchase allegedly at the ISP admin level ,at an Effingham county retail store. With no record of arrest or any issues of the several disqualifying events to prevent the sale, and being a former Deputy Sheriff in my younger years, as well as a veteran of the US Armed forces 9 yrs 7 mos. Honorably discharged, I felt that I was as qualified as the next person to enjoy yet another weapon in the field. I am a staunch advocate of weapon familiarity and safety as well by the way.nAfter being told that I can get my newly paid for black powder weapon in 24.hrs., was horrified that my check status was delayed when I went to pick it up. Time was an issue, so I called David Ries’ office. The The person answering the phone on the other end was not only pleasant and mannerly, he (JC) made me feel like a good human being and one who shall get quick service on this issue! Pleasantly surprised by my experience simply reaching out to our elected official, within 45 seconds JC assured me my application would process by that days close of business. He had no idea of my very extensive background in law enforcement, and and weapons useage, and won’t unless he reads this.nnI felt compelled to share how awesome this reps office made me feel and handled my issue. Turns out the ISP wasn’t the problem at all, rather the sales store informed me 24 hrs, and the process is 48 hrs.nnI am thankful that our politicians are doing such an incredibly amazing job and wanted to share this publicly, so others can get to the bottom of their own sticking issues!nnThank you JC and Rep Reis for having such a great office that helps its constituency.
