Shawnee Forest Cabins

This is my second trip to Shawnee Forest Cabins. SUPER clean, organized. Abundant amount of wood available for you to build a fire to create memories or just reflect. My first trip was to hike in the area. This trip I biked the beautiful Tunnel Hill trail. Not many food choices so plan ahead and bring something to put on the fire or use the fully equipped kitchen. It was 4 years between my trips and the Shawnee Forest Cabin owners have only added more amenities and value to their property.

UPDATE November 2020:nnFound another reason to escape, and came back for a longer stay. Stayed in the same one-bedroom with hot tub. Had the exact same awesome experience. Probably the first time I've gone on a getaway and didn't care that there was heavy rain for an entire day, as there was no reason to leave the hot tub.nnWill still be returning again in the future!nn---nNovember 2019:nnIf you're like me, enjoying spending all day in the outdoors but wanting to come back to a bed and bathroom and kitchen (even if it's in a tiny footprint), and also enjoy the hell out of a long soak in a private hot tub, then you can't really get any better than this place. I found it on a last minute quest to find a Thanksgiving getaway and really can't think of anything that could have been improved.nnWe stayed two nights and only really had the first morning to enjoy some of the day areas before the rain rolled in, but as we had stopped for groceries in Harrisburg and the hot tub was on a covered porch, there was still nothing to complain about. Everything needed to cook and serve food was provided, and there was even a huge firewood pile for the rock pits off the driveway, though we didn't get to do any campfire because of the rain. Having satellite TV and internet was nice for later at night.nnAbsolutely will return for any reason that I can find to escape again in the future.

I took my boyfriend to Garden of the Gods as a surprise birthday getaway. I found Shawnee Forest Cabin's website by google searching nearby locations. I was pleased with the price and the distance from our main reason for going. When we arrived the campground was clean and easy to get to from the road, we missed it at first though, and turned around. We contacted the mainline because I was unsure how to check-in, I've never experienced self-check-in. The woman on the phone was very nice and explained it all to me. Great customer service. The cabin was very cute and we enjoyed the woodsy feel it provided while hiking the areas. It was stocked with pots, pans, cooking utensils, bottle openers.. etc. Pretty much anything you need to cook a good meal after a long day of hiking. At night we cozied up to the fireplace with the pull-out couch bed and watched a movie. There is a cute little gift shop store right off the road to the cabins that offers food and ice cream treats. Everything was perfect and we had a great time. Also, they have this notebook by one of the bedsides that have people's entries of their stay and cool areas to see. It was pretty interesting reading them and seeing all the places people came from to stay /see the area, nice touch!

Highly recommend. Got a 1 room cabin with the hot tub. Cabins are easy to locate and spaced out well to not have your neighbors invading your space. Inside was immaculate and equipped with all the necessities. Super fair prices. Right in the midst of the shawnee forest. This place will not let you down.

This is the second year we've been to the cabins. Both times everything was very clean. They even had ice melt sitting out for us due to the bad weather. I called about low hot tub and the lady I spoke with was very courteous and it was fixed immediately. We love it there and will be back next year!
