Took a trip here with group of 5 for camping/hiking/bouldering. It was a wonderful time. Bouldering for all ages and skill levels with well mapped lines. Great camp sites with amazing views. Bath house was clean and we'll maintained. Hiking trails were amazing and take you all through the site with some picturesque outlooks. Had a great time.

This place is an undeveloped attraction similar to what you might have seen on route 66 in the day. It is a peaceful place it has an aura that you can feel! Very popular with younger people who are interested in rock climbing and Boulder climbing. Lots of fun to watch if you're not interested in participating.

Beautiful park. I love the rocks, you can lose yourself hiking and climbing all day. The staff was great for all of our questions and the store was a lifesaver for all the stuff we forgot at home.

Lovely place but the people who were running it were FAR from friendly. There are very few working power outlets and practically no running water. The toilets backed up and the bathrooms were repeatedly flooded.nIf you’re looking for amazing climbing, it’s a lovely spot, but I wouldn’t recommend the camping or the personnel.

One of the greatest hidden treasures of Alabama. The employees of Horse Pens 40 go out of their way to ensure that everyone has a fun and safe trip. Be sure you have a good bit of time to really explore all of this amazing landmark. Super fun for the whole family and there are different paths you can take for different difficulty levels. This is a big spot for bouldering, be prepared to see people climbing rocks in a way that is almost confusing to understand how a human can make it to the top.nMake sure you have your camera there are so many pretty photo ops. I've also seen pictures of gorgeous weddings at this location if you're looking for something a little bit more adventurous for your special day.
