Schaefer Outfitter

Schaefer Outfitter used to be a good clothing store. But things have changed.nI ordered my wife Christmas present in November, was supposed to be here before the end of November. When I called again was guaranteed it would be here before Christmas. When I called again and was again guaranteed it would be delivered, by the middle of January 2021. When I called today February 1, 2021, I was told they have put their orders on hold. Nobody from Schaefer will call and notify you, they are unable to fill your order. I have never given any company a bad review before.

Very poor business practices. Apparently the customer is there for them and not they other way around. I would highly not recommend doing business with these people.

Update:nReceived an email from Schaefer to remedy the problem. Apparently I got a customer service representative that wasn't to Schaefer standards yet. So once again good service comes through.nnI've been buying Schaefer products for over 15 yearsnand I haven't bought anything from Wrangler for at least 10 years. Their jackets, vests, and jeans have been great. Hell if they made underwear I'd probably be buying it too.nnHowever over the last few years I've had a few issues, from time to time I'll receive a pair of jeans that are a little larger or smaller than the other ones of the order. One pair of jeans sets the zipper about an inch off of center, not a big problem they're work jeans after all.nnThen I ordered a wool big country rancher about 3 weeks ago and after 2 weeks one snap fell off due to an apparently oversized hole punched on the storm flap.nUnfortunately I was rather disappointed when I contacted the previously accommodating customer service and was told that they would send me new snap components! I'm not a seamstress by trade or hobby so I can only assume that I would then have to pay to have it repaired or go purchase a device to install the snap, in a hole to big for it?nI know a missing snap seems trivial but I expect a 265 dollar jacket to maintain it's snaps, buttons, and zippers for most of the useful life of the coat. I've had several Schaefer jackets and vests that I've worn until thread bare and they all held the closures for the life of the product.nnI just hope this isn't a sign that Schaefer is letting their growth and success to lead them down the road of other large businesses that lose sight of what got them to this point.nnI'll still be buying Schaefer products, but I'll be keeping my eyes open for the next company that will maintain the highest standards of quality control and customer service, just in case.

I have been extremely satisfied with everything I have purchased from Schaefer. They have the highest quality and authentic style. They are the Best Value for the money.

I bought a Range Wax Drifter in early December. Getting ready to put it away for the season so I thought I'd post a review.nnWas looking for a durable waterproof and wind resistant coat I could use in the 30-60 degree range. For me, this coat is perfect. I usually combine it with a thin or thick sweatshirt depending on weather. At about 28 degrees I switched to my winter coat. At around 50, ditch the sweatshirts. Has kept me dry and blocked the wind all season.nnSo far the coat looks like the day I received it. I have an 80lb dog that has racked the coat with his claws while playing and you can't see any marks.nnI'm 5' 10,about 180. Bought a large, returned it for a medium. No, the people were not bright and bubbly but they processed the return quickly and without compliant.nnOnly con would be I think it would be to hot to wear as a raincoat in the summer. I bought the coat knowing that, so for me it's not an issue. I'd buy the coat again in a heart beat.
