I ride this trail frequently on my bike. The section that is in Mineral Wells is paved. The section from the east side of Mineral Wells to Weatherford is crushed gravel. The gravel portion is good for trail running/hiking, bikes with wider tires, and horses. Horses are only allowed on the trail section from the State Park to Weatherford. The entire trail is 22 miles in length. Water and bathroom facilities are available at all of the trail heads. Plenty of good parking is available at all trail heads.
It's a great hike during the day, but mine the bums at night not a good time to be out.
Love this place the trails are great lived in Mineral Wells most my life and spent many weekends at the Lake Mineral Wells State Trailway !
