Kaufman County is scam people of property taxes. Every year our taxes have bee increasing over $1000.00 and not to mention, they refuse to have a hearing and or come up with an excuse why they cannot schedule a hearing. Office is constantly closed as they continue having positive COVID test. Have you heard about working from home??? I want to know where the tax is going? Schools are horrible, there are not parks, the roads are in bad condition. I wished we would never moved here. HORRIABLE

Texas website states property tax statements should be created and mailed by October 1st or as soon as possible after.Yet this year i received my property tax statement on October 30th. Kinda untimely.

Property taxes in Kaufman county are the highest in the region. Bureaucracy out of control. If you move into the county be prepared to have a 2.68 minimum property tax rate. If you live in heartland or a mud expect to pay 3.30 or higher. Ridiculous.

I really want to give zero, which is not allowed. Kaufman county has the highest property tax in the whole world!!!!!! They used updated house to compare to our old houses, discriminated to the rental owner. They increased my appraisal from $130,000.00 to $210,000.00, with all the other move in ready houses with my sold as is house. And there is no way to argue. They created the IRB hearing for nothing, wasting time and money from our tax payer. I don't know why it happens every year for no help, but still happens. They DID it on PURPOSE. They don't need to be there for salary at all.

Taxes are expensive! Staff was professional. I didn't get everything I wanted but that's life.
