Dr. Richard E. LaCour III, DDS

My son needed to be seen for two wisdom teeth that needed extraction. He was assessed by Dr Lacour III, xrays taken and he was placed on antibiotics and scheduled to return on the next Monday. Upon his arrival the dentist was running about 45 minutes behind, it was not Dr Lacour III, but instead a fairly new female dentist to their practice. When my son was placed in the chair she ordered more xrays, it was determined she could not perform both extractions ( most importantly the one that was absolutely killing him) was going to have to wait.) He needed to see an oral surgeon, she could however pull one of them. This is when we said, we had had enough. In steps, our Angel of this practice Juanita. I told her we needed help now, we needed to see an oral surgeon TODAY. We had already paid 745.00 for two extractions and we needed help. Juanita got us in to see Dr Scruggs, who was able to extract both teeth. He was kind, he was professional, his nurse Sally did everything she could to alleviate his fears. After starting at MDC at 4:30, he was home by 7:00 pm.nI was not happy that Dr LaCour III made the decision that it was safe for a different dentist to pull my sons teeth. When in fact, the next dentist did the appropriate thing in not attempting it and possible paralyzing my sons facial nerves. I am not sure if we would use them again, maybe for a filling or a cleaning. But I dont trust Dr LaCours judgement, he made a really bad call for another dentist and his sweet office manager to clean up. Shame on him.
