St John’s is a caring church. The congregation is very welcoming, and in no time one feels part of the church family.

This is a lovely, small church in Camas that reminds me of the church where I grew up in Michigan. This is a FAMILY church - it is clear that the congregation truly care for each, and they are always doing something to help their community and all those in need. I remember playing there shortly after Hurricane Katrina hit (I am a professional musician and have performed there several times), and several members of the congregation had flown there to spend time helping with the rebuilding efforts. The pastor, Ken Campbell, is outgoing and compassionate. The music is a blend with some 'worship team' style songs, but any church that still uses a choir (all volunteer members of the church), sings in parts, and uses hymnals is a major plus. The current choir director, Lee Jennings, is a true musician who programs worthy music, and I can only hope that they will bring in someone as qualified when he retires soon.nIf I had children, this would be the church where I would want them to attend and grow up in. A place where everyone knows everyone else's name, and where they will make you feel welcomed and cared for. I have performed in countless churches over the years, and this one remains an absolute favorite. Give it a try!
