Good memorial, made from parts of his cabin. Lots of blackberries nearby. Sad though. And apparently a haunted place to camp, but that seems obvious. Unhaunted sites are northbound nearby, enjoy!
Remote and beautiful. Peaceful place to reflect on nature and life.
This is a wonderful majestic place but one most folks for some reason seem to forget that it is also a sacred place because it is where Uncle Nick lived a good portion of his life and he also died there and was subsequently placed to rest there so please don't abuse his little paradise where he chose to live out his life isolated from humanity. His actual skillet,& pots&pans were originally attached to the monument by a sturdy chain but some mindless vandals robbed us all of them just a few short years ago. I hope Uncle Nick's pet rattler bites the culprits right on their ⁿ#¿*s! Well worth the walk to enjoy the solitude one man enjoyed most of his life.
