Franklin County Board of Educ

I am a graduate of Franklin County Schools systems. I learned a lot during my tenure at the school. BUT... I have learned a lot more as a parent of a potential Franklin County preschooler than I ever learned as a student. Let's have a discussion about bias, shall we? Color shouldn't matter in this school system, but I think that money does... I find it SO funny that my son was recently denied for admission to pre-k when there are teacher's kids admitted without a single issue every other year. They say that income is a factor... yeah sure. It's only a factor if you're not doing some serious good ole boy ass kissing. I've lived here all my life, chose to come back to this godforsaken hole to raise my family... my family is amongst some of the founders of this stinking county and it's going to complete and total hell because of small town politics. I pay my taxes, I work hard and unlike about 85% of the applicants who tried to get into the program, I was 100% honest on my application AND I was actually zoned for this school! So what if my son scored an 87 on his Brigance Test... he's had attention and learning and studying that allowed him to be successful and make those kinds of scores! Education shouldn't be based on income. It is a fundamental right that kids in all other grades can go to their local school and receive an education... why the discrimination for the lower grades? Maybe my smart kid could teach those other kids something!!!

One of the worst school systems in TN. They wait until the last minute to close in emergency situations,the bus drivers can't drive,the teachers can't teach. It's awful.....
