The staff was so helpful in the midst of COVID travel. Everything was set up well and the rooms were clean. Would recommend to anyone coming through Charleston.

We stayed in one of their private rooms...$126 for the two of us... That's unheard of for downtown Charleston! I love hostels, very different experience than a regular hotel. Plus it's teaching my daughter how to live frugally, so you have more money to spend on bigger things. We've stayed at this hostel twice before, never disappointed... Very clean, safe and quaint feel to it. Highly recommend Not So Hostel!

Absolutely loved staying at the NotSo Hostel Annex. It's a beautiful house that is very clean and welcoming. The bed was very comfortable. The bathrooms were clean with good water pressure. The coffee was great! It was a lovely place to hang my hat and explore Charleston for a few days. Can't wait to go back!

I preface this review by saying that I have traveled extensively and stayed at a LOT of hostels. I know that comfort is compromised with affordability. I usually do not mind when hostels are a little rough around the edges when it comes to cleanliness but in Covid19 times I was shocked at the state of the room. Bed/ compact living, thats all to be expected, but ohhhh the dust bunnies. Its clear this room was never thoroughly cleaned. My partner and I were genuinely concerned about catching the 2020 plague. There were remnants of past travelers and an even coating of dust (and mold in some places) on every available surface. It was so bad that the ceiling was dropping the horror bunnies on us as we slept. The website states that they were taking Covid19 precautions but that obviously didn't extend to prepping with cleaning chemicals. Also, the breakfast that was included was a sad, sad bag of oatmeal. Misleading and set the new low bar for hostel breakfast.
