Understandably there are COVID restrictions for safety. However, when students are denied entry WITH a student ID, that is unacceptable. Refused service because you do not have the “new” student ID? That makes absolute zero sense and is not helpful when access is needed to complete assignments. What’s the point in paying tuition if you aren’t granted access to the library? If a student shows up with a physical student id, whether new or old, they should not be refused service. If students can access various online resources without a new student ID, then there should be no problem with them accessing the physical building if they are following all social distancing protocol. In my mind, the purpose of the library is to help students. This is the foundation of excellent customer service. And was lacking in my own experience.

Not for tourists... Could not get in...we are tourists and after spending 3 weeks here in town found the one place that limits tourists due to covid-19.

The Marlene & Nathan Addlestone Library - College of Charleston is a wonderful resource to get some work done in a quiet environment with an overwhelming amount of sources for research along with very cool collections on display to check out and learn. Awesome environment to study and learn.

It was winter of 2017, a slight breeze filled the air. As I slinked up the stairs - to the third floor - I couldn’t help but be disappointed in the vibes being curated in this place of academia.
