Kitfox Pediatric Dentistry

Second visit had a terrible experience. Previously the agreement with Dr. Tom and his staff was to have several visits to apply fluoride treatment for my toddler to both delay the decay on his tooth and get him used to the chair and staff so that he would be comfortable with getting a filling. On this second visit we were rushed into a room, not a chair, to apply the fluoride. I mentioned to the staff that this was not part of the original agreement/treatment. The staff member was very rude in her response while referring to having been working there for three years. The fluoride was quickly wiped on the front of his teeth completely missing the areas most needing the treatment.nnAfter returning to car and inspecting my toddler's teeth, my wife and I noticed that indeed the fluoride treatment was applied quickly and carelessly. We decided to call the office when we reached home to speak with the dentist to let me him know that the staff did not follow what was agreed upon for treatment.nnWhen calling the office, the staff did not want to pass along a note to the dentist to give me a call when he had a moment to discuss our concerns. I then informed the staff my concerns about the problem areas were not addressed with the treatment and would like Dr. Thom to give me a call.nnAbout an hour later I called again with the intentions to ask for a refund since the treatment was not satisfactory. I explained to the staff again the issue and was transferred to another staff member. I explained our concerns and was about to ask for a refund but then this staff member gave some excuses about the treatment falling off when my wife said she saw applicator tip never got anywhere near the areas that needed treatment. I was also told some things by this staff member that was in direct conflict with what the dentist told us at the previous visit. The staff member asked what I wanted to settle this and we agreed that we would return to the office again since we were close by and that she would redo the treatment herself.nnAfter the treatment was completed, the staff member approached me in the parking lot and told me about how the treatment went (my wife brought him in while I was on the phone). Surprisingly, she said the areas were not on the chart and that the discolored area was just food and this was the reason the other staff member didn't treat those areas. I pointed out this was again in conflict with what Dr. Thom said. Previously, we specifically asked Dr. Thom about that specific tooth. Dr. Thom said it was indeed decay and fluoride treatment was applied to that area during the first visit. She then told me that I was rude and not allowed to call or come to the office. This was very surprising and unbelievable in fact, especially when we were the ones being treated rudely. Even my wife was stunned. It seems the staff considers it rude to question or point out incorrect information. If this is true then every patient that questions a diagnosis or seeks a second opinion is rude.nnThe first visit was very nice and welcoming but this second visit the complete opposite like comparing night and day.nnOriginally, I was not going to write a negative review and instead give Dr. Thom a chance to make this right, but after the way the staff treated us both times, we have decided that Kitfox Pediatric Dentistry is not the right fit for our little one. They cannot be trusted in my opinion and in no way could I in good conscience give the five stars they requested nor recommend this place to any other parent.

Always a great experience! I appreciate that everyone takes the time to talk to my kids and make sure they’re okay with what’s happening, and if they get stressed out, don’t push them to continue. Dr. Thom and his staff have been amazing and our girls get so excited to go see “the tooth doctor” because of their gentle approach to patient care. Highly recommend!

We are always so impressed with the level of care at Kitfox. Dr. Thom and his staff are always welcoming and helpful. It's a wonderful feeling to not dread taking your children to the dentist! I appreciate their expertise and friendly dental assistants and a dentist who is patient and understanding with nervous children and parents too!

They always do an amazing job. Usually the game room is open (closed now because of COVID-19) but my son really loves that. They make my kids and myself comfortable at all times. Answer any questions or concerns I may have. Appointment times are always flexible. Get us seen very quickly. I would definitely recommend them.

My oldest is 6 years old and absolutely is terrified of the dentist. The staff was so patient with her. Everyone reassured her and made her feel as comfortable as she would allow, explaining everything they were doing.
