Central Court Magistrates

Married my husband here. There is I think a 24 hour waiting period which didn’t bother us. The people doing our paperwork were very friendly and helpful. It’s located in a pretty good place. The notary we used was 2 minutes down the road and that was really convenient. Prices were fair and we had no issues here.

Customer service is trash

Horrible! Horrible! I only put 1 star because I had to put something to continue.They don't even have a usable bathroom and ceiling in bad shape. Went there for traffic ticket and you had to first see the officer that gave you the ticket and he asked what was I planning to do regarding the case. I said not guilty so I could plead my case. He said ok go back in courtroom and wait. IT TOOK FOREVER for him to finish with everyone. I thought that it was unfair to have the police officer that wrote the ticket to handle what we decide to do. The ticket was for SC move over law 56-5-1538 G..which clearly states that the authorized emergency vehicle must display their flashing lights, which in my case he didnt have on his lights so it just looked like two parked vehicles. I had two witnesses that were in the car that said he didnt have on his lights....but guess what....The law meant nothing to that female judge and I dont think she even knew cause we all observed her facial expression and she really had already made up in her mind what she was going to do. She wouldn't allow me to rewind the tape to show that they were not on...and also the police officer even told her that his lights won't work until he cranks his car. Get a lawyer if it happens to you because South Carolina cares nothing about the laws they wrote in black and white because they bend them..of course, so the state won't look bad. Witnesses mean nothing to them. Just so you know, 3 of that officers cases were dismissed back to back....I guess they have a limit. This was my experience...just expressing my opinion.
