My son tore his labrum during football season and had to have surgery the summer before his senior year causing him to not only miss his senior year of football but on all of the possibilities of being recruited as well. We were hopeful to get him some rehab and back into the game or at the very least ready for some college recruits to visit with him. We started out in your normal Outpatient setting and I believe this helped him get back into his normal daily activities but he needed more. He needed more one on one focused training. That is when a PA I work with directed me towards Scott, and I have never once regretted it. Scott has taken Micah above and beyond and he is currently lifting more now than he ever did prior to his surgery! His PT sessions aren’t just therapy they are a true workout session geared towards an athletes recovery. He creates a personal therapy/training plan that targets each individuals need and he personally sees it through. Without Scott’s help I don’t think Micah would have been able to go to that next level in football. Thank you Scott for everything! We truly appreciate all you have done in the healing process of Micah and helping him to get to that next level!
I've had chronic issues with my hips for years & worked with Scott for a few months to reduce pain after a flare-up. He really listened to my concerns, developed an at-home program for me, and worked with me every week on strengthening and mobility.nIt was highly effective - my hips are feeling a lot better than when I started! I'd recommend Thrive Physio and Performance to anyone looking for a PT.
I have been working with Scott Carlin, DPT, for about a year now. I came in with sciatica in my left leg and my lower back. Before working with Scott, I had seen multiple professionals who couldn't help me achieve consistent results. Scott worked with me for a few sessions and quickly helped identify ways to reduce the pain and work towards athletic goals.nnI can now do many things I could not do in 2019 because we have reduced my pain so much. This includes deadlifts, squats, grappling, moving apartments, and sitting in an airplane seat. In 2019 all of these things would have been at best tedious and at worst a nightmare. 2020 has been hard on all of us, but at least I can say that back pain didn't stop me from living life.nnOverall his approach is hands-on work, which transitions to monitored one-on-one training. The training quickly becomes athletic, allowing you to get stronger while treating your injuries, rather than relying on drugs, gadgets, or strange alternative medical practices promoted by some other therapists I have worked with in the past.nnI would recommend Scott to anyone who has experienced an injury, especially if you are an active adult. I know several professional and amateur athletes who have gone to him for long-term and short-term treatment.
I’ve been having issues with my right side for longer than I care to admit, any time I run a distance over a half marathon everything on the right side just tightens up from my ankle to my calf to my knee to my IT band to my hip. I saw Scott on a Monday, he worked on my right side in the office then sent me home with five exercises to do daily.nI ran 50 miles the next weekend and I can’t even explain the night and day difference I felt from all my previous marathons(6), 50ks(1) and 50 milers(1). I spend 15-20 minutes a day doing the simple exercises he suggested and it has changed everything. Seeing Scott was an absolute game changer for my running! My advice, go now, don’t put it off.
I found Dr. Carlin through social media. I saw a few of my friends were going to him for their injuries and when I started to struggle with pain of my own I decided to give him a try as well. BEST DECISION OF MY LIFE! I went from struggling to finish a 10 mile run to setting a new pr in the 5k in the span of a couple of months. Scott really helped me get back on track to where I was and I will always be thankful for that. Thank you Dr. Carlin!
