Kaiyote Tours

I hired Kaiyote to help me find the best place to photograph Hurricane Ridge during sunrise. She did a phenomenal job, and I was so grateful for her experience. We just got back from a 3 day tour through Olympic National Park with Ed and loved it! We met him the night before the backcountry experience (at visitor center) so he could go over details and any last minute questions we had. Then the next day we all met and got our gear and set out for an adventure I will never forget. He provided all the gear (including food) and made sure we got the right fit, so we were comfortable throughout the hike. Then on the trail he provided info about the area and kept us informed about birds and other wildlife we may see. For me, the number one priority was staying safe and I felt like I didn't have to worry about that with Ed - he was very careful with bare canisters, etc. He was very considerate of others on the trail as well - often offering help to those in need of assistance (fishing tips, directions, etc). I would definitely tour with Kaiyote Tours again - we met her on the trail and I would love to meet her again for another trek!

I have known Kaiyote from her days in Colorado, her knowledge of nature intertwined with birds and animals of the world. I had the opportunity to go to Columbia, December 2018. The trip was wonderful and many birds were found. My favorite is hummingbirds and we saw 32 species in 12 days. The trips run smoothly, we eat well always and the camaraderie was wonderful. Kaiyote led my family on a guided tour of Iceland in August 2018. We had a wonderful time in the country and with Kaiyote. The highlight of the trip was visiting a puffin colony on an island off of Iceland. It was wonderful to see these amazing birds up close. My time with Kaiyote introduced me to bird watching, an activity which, due to my time with Kaiyote, I've also come to enjoy and love!
