Wilmington NC Fire Station 2

We were concerned about our son having heat related problems so we stopped in at Station 2 to see if they could check him over. A group of Medics/Firemen came out to our car and checked our son over. At no time did we feel like we were putting them out and they interacted with our son very well. As we were leaving one of the firemen mentioned that we could bring our son for a tour of the fire station. The next day my husband brought our 6 y.o. son for a tour and my son had nothing but positive things to say about the firemen and his visit. He was shown the different tools on the truck and got to go inside them and even honk the horn. Then he got to see the whole station. My husband was again very impressed with everyone they met. He said that if he had to have a fire or some kind of emergency he would like to know that people such as these would be the ones showing up. And from my interaction with them I would have to agree.nnWilmington should be very proud of the caliber of people they have working for them. Our family was greatly impressed.

I was at the station dedication ceremony and recently visited the new rescue truck. All the personnel were courteous and I was proud of having a professional fire department.nI plan on being at the Wilmington Firefighter's Memorial dedication on 9/11/13.
