Jacksonville Public Transit

New to area, and was given information from the home office on where to catch busses, and the times. I enjoy conversing with the drivers, have not found any to be rude. They have answered any questions I have had about maneuvering about town via bus line routes.

The majority of the time the bus drivers are very nice. There is an older gentleman and an older woman who drive (I can’t remember their names) who are always so sweet and welcoming to everyone. I gave it a 4 star because there have been some bad drivers in the past.

Today this bus driver passed 2 bus stops in a row after the yellow cord was pulled for a sto request, this is unacceptable, please remind him that he is to stop at the bus stop sign when requested and not to an area where there is no bus stop sign.

These drivers have no training evidently. Wondering if they even have licenses the way they drive. And their manners are appalling. Saw one -#481- having a temper fit blowing their horn over and over instead of giving a taxi 5 seconds to discharge and move from in front of DSS. These drivers act like they own the road. Won't even shop at the mall anymore because they fly thru there and have almost hit me twice. They are a hazard to this town. Sorry for people who can't afford another method of travel but they are putting their lives in danger riding those buses.

Lack of routes. Extreme time in between buses from one end or the other, in other words, if you miss the 0620 freedom way bus it's another hour before there's another one. If you are just one paying lot away and try to flag the driver to wait, they don't wait. The fare is great but access to routes, stops is very limited. At most stops there is no covering so in bad weather, very hot/cold, rain. You're left to your own devices. I've ridden bus and train systems in 5 states and 4 countries and this is the worst run of them all.
