Linda L. Kelley Animal Shelter

I had to take my baby Lola to surrender her due to my hectic work schedule working in a hospital in the Covid testing center. I lost my mom to Covid in April and Lola was like my child and my emotional support! I would hug her and when I needed to cry she would lay right beside me! Linda L. Kelley animal shelter took good care of her until I was able to adopt her back. The staff kept me up to date on everything and how she was doing. Everyone was sooo nice and caring! They made sure she was up to date on her shots, registered her and microchipped something I had not had a chance to do! Lola is so happy to be home and is doing great! Thanks Linda L. We rescued 2 kittens from a bush next door in 18° weather.. We cared for them over night and brought them here. You can feel the warm, caring energy when you walk through the doors! Great staff and beautiful rescue!

BEWARE Before Surrendering you pet! This is a Low Kill Shelter, NOT a No Kill shelter. If you are surrendering and do not want the pet to be put down, MAKE SURE THEY KNOW THIS! They will not call you to see if you want to take the pet back prior to euthanizing. I think this is a good shelter, But this is something that I wasn't privy to before they put my dog down when I was willing and able to take her back!

The older woman who works the front desk gives you miss leading information, was interested in a dog went to visit 3 times before his release and couldn’t do a 1 on 1 visit til he had his rabies shot. Well guess what? The day He was released they let a gentleman that had got there before me have a 1 on 1 visit with no rabies shot. Talking to the older woman at the front desk the day Prior, told me that no one could visit 1 on 1 til he had all shots. I will never step foot in that shelter again.

Very beautiful facility. Great place for rescues.
