Lafayette Parish Clerk of Court

I feel uncomfortable leaving this review. The how can I catagorize and critique a collective based on one individual?... There was one individual, Erin, who was a 5 STAR ⭐⭐⭐⭐, CLERK!!!! However, given that the Lafayette parish courthouse is teeming with corruption, health and safety code violatins, violations of the first, second, fourth , and yes even 8th amendment... After observing what Lafayette parish is capable of, I find myself in an ethical dilemma.... Whistle blow and risk oppression, or exercise my fith amendment and live with that on my conscience...

My son and I came in to get a passport and ask about passport cards on Monday. Jeanine helped us. She was so quick, courteous and informative. She answered all of our questions and even provided extra pertinent information! Thanks so much, Jeanine (hope I spelled your name correctly). We appreciate you!!

I went in to apply for my new passport as mine had been expired for a number of years. I began filling out my paperwork, only to be stopped by a woman who told me I was filling out the wrong form. So I stopped what I was doing and followed her instructions. Today I return home to find that I have filled out the wrong form and my request for a passport has been delayed/denied for incorrect paperwork. I don’t understand how a person who only does paperwork for a living and only 2 kinds of paperwork doesn’t understand the rules that are easily read online. I should have ignored this office and done the work I intended to do, since they cannot even mail the forms off. Basically my passport will be delayed another month because I trusted the “ passport office “ instead of just going to the post office, which they sent me to anyway. Now I’ve wasted postage and time. What a complete waste of taxpayers’ dollars and my time. Why is this office even open?!? If I could give this place NEGATIVE STARS, I would.nDo yourself a favor, SKIP THIS OFFICE ALTOGETHER AND JUST GO TO THE POST OFFICE!!! This office is completely worthless and these people are paid to do absolutely nothing, much like most of our government offices.

No parking good luck getting someone to help you on the phone. Had to use my GPS on my phone to get to courthouse cause I had to park so far away, then I'm told I have to put my phone back in my car for security! All to get a copy of a birth certificate!!

Dealing with most of the employees is normally very pleasant but....like any place, there are SOME NO MATTERHOW nice you try to be to them..... they are NOT!
