Called to ask if the area I was considering moving to was safe as I was unfamiliar with the area and was told that it was against policy to provide safety information to the public. If the law enforcement agency in an area cant tell you which areas of their jurisdiction are safe and which are unsafe, who can??

This is a criminal organization. If you get involved with these people seek legal counsel outside of public defenders. They're in cahoots with the Bar Association. Try Anonymous or Citizens Against...nI believe that behavior is due to Lafayette being out of money. Everyday someone is incarcerated is $75 in their pocket. Do you ever pack jail cells system is guilty of multiple human right violations on a daily basis. Even the local news how to do a story about it. If you have somebody in jail ask about getting them out on a regular basis because they can get lost in the system.nIf I'm wrong please tell me because I'm speaking to work with these people. They chose to be against the citizens that they are sworn to protect.nnIn response to the one good review. They're good to the elderly.

Everyone needs to understand that this organization can not keep deputies from quitting which has lead to lower quality deputies being employed. My neighbor installed cameras that reach over my property line and are recording audio and video of my backyard and inside my house, including bedrooms. None of these areas are visible from a public space and she is not recording one square inch of her property. The Lafayette Sheriff Department came to my house and told me that my situation was a civil matter and that I would have to settle it in court. Not wanting to have to pay for an attorney, I came up with another solution. I built a sign that would block most of what my neighbor was videoing as I am still unable to come up with a solution to block the audio from recording my conversations. Would you believe that the Lafayette Sheriff Department came back to my house while I was working in Baton Rouge on a Sunday and forced my girlfriend to take down the sign? They claimed that it was in violation of HOA regulations. That has been proven to be a false claim after confirmation with the HOA. They intimidated my girlfriend to a point to where she was shaking and crying to me on the phone. They told her that they were not leaving until she took it down. There were three of them, 2 males and 1 female. Not to my surprise, there is no Sheriff report filed regarding this event as from my experience in the last year, only 10% of my encounters with them at my house have been filed. When I tried to request the communications records to show how many times they have been to my house (25+ in a 9 month period), I was told by the communications department that they are not allowed to release that information to the public. This organization needs to be shut down. They are a disgrace to our city.

Listen, I'm not sure what sort of cockamamie organisation you think you're running down there, but you all can't just be kiddnapping and holding citizens hostage for engaging in a constitutionally protected activity.
