Horn Rapids County Park covers more land than just the obvious developed grounds on the north shore of The Horn. It extends upriver between Hwy 225 and the Yakima River for about 6 miles. Most of that is rough roads and places to get down to the river. The main park includes a campground, a large day use area, multiple trails, a history gazebo, and a boat launch. There is plenty to do here. I found a short trail up a gravel bank on the east end with a good view of the river and park.

Park is clean and maintained. Swimming is questionable, nasty water. Shower gets scalding hot and won't turn down, friend came back to the RV with red doing and shampoo in her hair. Sunrise and sunsets are gorgeous and picturesque especially with the tree in the middle. Its a quick walk to the river/boat ramp.nnI wouldn't stop here again for fun but I'd happily stop here again if I was traveling through.

The park is always kept clean. Grass is maintained almost daily. Bathrooms and showers are also sanitized daily, except for weekends. Mark the park manager is an exceptional person. He is very caring and reasonable. The park is not monitored regularly and there is not anyone on site for questions or problems. Payment drop box and information are located outside the bathrooms and showers. The park is RV park is open April 1st to September 30th every year. No sewage hook ups at RV lots. Lots are large and grassy with 30&50amp hookups with water hookups too. There is access to the water and a boat dock as well. Trash is disposed of in a large dumpster. Poisonous spiders are bad near the trees most of the summer. Flies and yellowjackets are bad at the end of September. Since there are no regulations to who stays here you need to make sure your RV and vehicles are locked and alarmed. Also there is a waste disposal site.

Righteous spot man. Water and power hook up. Plenty of elbow room, little walking trails you can take, boat launch and park near by. 25 bucks the night. 5 bucks to dump if your non-camper.

I was the only person out on a walk there today. Nice river views. Not the best place for walking a dog unless you stay on the gravel roads. Darn goatheads!
