My time at this school was great! I graduated in 2000.The school did prepare me to pass the national board my first time. I gave two stars for the business in general. It’s has changed so much it the last 20 years. If I had it to do over, I would wouldn’t change what I have done, only the people I choose to work for. My advice to anyone considering going into this career . Get your bachelors degree in another Field .choose this a career as a secondary .when you get tired of the funeral business, you will have something to fall back on.This business needs to raise the salaries as funeral directors in embalmers. This would retain a lot of professional and good people. However, I did make very well in my career but I had to work for every penny night and day time away from my kids and my family which ultimately calls the decay of my marriage.

Graduated in 1989. Easy curriculum. Impossible to get a job as a female without a family funeral home to go to.....perhaps it is easier now. Do NOT recommend! Not accredited!

You, will grow and love every person you come in contact with; because, you simply become a family, that shares a passion, for Thanatology. Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Services, prepares you to pass National Board, the first time. I am a 2015 graduate.

It's been a number of years since I graduated from Gupton Jones. I can tell you the school equipped me with the knowledge needed to score in the high percentile on the National Board Exam and to pass my State Board License Exam. Additionally, early employers found me to be useful and competent at a professional entry level. I highly recommend the school.
