Actually change insurance companies because of This company

After 20+ years with Allstate in Stoneybrook shopping center, they move. No notice. Now... we file a claim from a water leak in the attic that produced mold on the upper inside of a coat closet (construction company involved with remediation said it was no where near as bad as originally thought, and had been a short term leak as the wood was NOT rotted). We immediately notified them as soon as we found it, called a plumber to fix the pipe that was leaking and did everything we could to prevent more damage and there was damage, sudden, unexpected damage due to water. Claim denied, not only denied but we were reprimanded for not reading our policy. And, it was put on our file so that if we tried to find other insurance, our rates would rise and we would opt to stay with Allstate. Not the case, lesson learned...you have to, by law, have insurance, just don’t file a claim. Another scam.
