I wish I could rate this place a zero. I booked a car weeks in advanced for 3/26 only to be told when I got there that they do a soft credit inquiry. I was then told my credit wasn’t satisfactory enough so they couldn’t take my debit card and needed a credit card? That makes absolutely no sense. I had to leave and find somewhere else last minute for something I had planned for weeks. No where in the area had cars so I was out of luck when I could’ve booked somewhere else instead of wasting time at this awful company. Also the employee that took my id quite literally said to me “I should have a talk with the DMV about letting people take these ugly pictures”. I didn’t even know what to say, I was so caught off guard to be so openly insulted like that. I wish I knew that employees name so I could report him for being such a jerk.nI’ll never recommend hertz to anyone.
Wish I could leave no stars, my wife rented a car to go round trip to SC and back and 20min before she got to her destination, a warning light came on in the dash and the car started shaking some. She called this location where she rented from and was told they couldnt help her at all she had to talk to the one closest to her which also said they couldnt help her and that she would have to drive a messed up car 45+ minutes (one way) to the next closest location and MAYBE they could help. Or they said she could use the road side assistance to have a new car brought to her and the messed up one towed... but she would have to pay for the towing of THEIR MESSED UP CAR THEY ASSIGNED her out of her own pocket. Terrible service, not helpful at all when they assigned a messed up vehicle, just rude and dismissive. Will be reporting this.

I wish I could rate a zero. I went onto the website and made a reservation to be picked up at this location. I showed up and the two staff members were sitting at the desk with food. They informed me they did not have a vehicle for me, gave me my reservation number and told me to call the other location. Isn’t that their job? Aren’t they supposed to assist me in getting a rental vehicle that I reserved online?nI did end up calling the other location and was told they only had a different style vehicle and wouldn’t honor my reservation price and for me to call the toll-free number. I did so and was told to go to Richmond to get a vehicle and next time to call agencies to see if cars are available and not use the website. I understand that this portion of my review is Corporate Hertz’s problem but shouldn’t the staff members at this agency have helped me?nHertz has lost this customer.
Always low on fleet. Not at all helpful. They Lie to customers about not having vehicles.
