Our carbon monoxide detector in our home triggered our alarm twice in one day, so we were a bit concerned. They sent someone out with a gas monitor within 10 minutes of calling. Not only did he check the carbon monoxide detector, he showed us the dates on our smoke detectors, which determined that they were older than the 10 year period they recommend, which was why we were replacing batteries in them so often.
