Come here if you want the absolute best sushi in Hampton Roads. Daikichi has incredible, authentic Japanese food for great prices. The owners / chefs are Japanese, as well as the wait staff. They are all very friendly and helpful, which makes your dining experience that much better. Their prices are incredibly reasonable, considering the quality. The food is exceptional, and comparable, if not better, than some expensive restaurants in cities like New York. This is not the place to go if you want some Asian fusion, Americanized rolls for your Instagram feed. There are plenty of other places for that. If you truly want an authentic experience where extra attention is spent towards every minute detail, come to Daikichi. This is the closest you'll get to eating in Toyosu while in Virginia. Highly recommend checking their Facebook page since they post information about lunch specials and fresh fish.

I wish I knew what happened. At one point this was the best sushi in the city of Chesapeake, how times have changed.nI couldn’t taste the difference between any of them. They all were overly bland. Not being able to tell the difference between 3 types of sushi is really wild. All I tasted was rice; what a supreme let down. This was my go to, they have the spot off to the side where you can sit at a traditional table, the ambience is exceptional, if only the food still matched. Please please please go back to what you were doing before, this new stuff must die like Romeo. I won’t ever return AND I had an upset stomach the next day :(. 31 bucks worth of sushi for not one drop of it to be delicious.

I went to this place because I'd been there before and had a good time. On this second occasion I waited for an hour for my food while all the other patrons were served and some had already left, all of them came in after me as I was first to arrive. I will never go to or recommend this place to anyone. I wish I could leave no stars. The food was no good and I was not impressed by the smell. I guess the service and the food stunk that day.

Absolutely a favorite in the area!!! The food is always amazing and only matched by the service. These people truly care about quality and pleasing everyone who enters the building. Don't miss this local gem!!!
