He told me that I either had a hole in my ear or Ménière’s disease. Thankfully I got a second opinion and I didn’t have either one. In fact you are not able to diagnose Ménière’s disease without vertigo which I did not have and I told him that. I would strongly advise you not to go to him.

My Wife had a consultation with him and he wanted to do a radical invasive surgery to biopsy a small growth. We did not want this but were told only way to proceed. Got a second opinion and second doctor was shocked that this was what Hetherington wanted to do. He suggested that if needed a simple needle biopsy was sufficient, but didn’t even think that was necessary. Second doctor recommended watching for a time and we did and it went away. Hetherington would have done major invasive surgery immediately for no good reason.

I had a deviated septum surgery years ago that Hugh Heathering did. I looked like I got hit by a baseball bat after surgery. Terrible experience. There has been absolutely no change. I wish I had not gone to him, as I don't think he knows what he is doing. He has no bedside manner and seems put out by the littlest thing. If you're considering a surgery look elsewhere.

My daughter needed a simple hearing test. Heatherington also insisted on an office visit, during which he damaged her ear. He admitted putting a hole in the tissue at the time and seemed pretty nervous. The nurse was very reassuring. We went back a couple weeks later to make sure everything was healed and I mentioned that I didn't think we should get billed for this visit since it was his fault. He pretended to have no memory of what had happened and treated us like complete idiots. Anyone can make a mistake, but he showed no character at all. I would never recommend him to anyone.

I had a procedure done several years ago and a follow up not too long ago. Dr. Hetherington is skilled. I wouldn't trust anyone else. And his nurses are the BEST.
