Great museum, with exhibits featuring extremely rare fossils, information on life in Montana over the years and Native American culture. Additionally, the planetarium was INCREDIBLE! The first 3:30 showing filled up quickly given COVID restrictions, but the museum staff kindly offered to do another showing for us a half hour later so those of us who didn’t make it could see, and I was so grateful! Hearing about Voyager’s mission was definitely a highlight. The gift shop also had a great variety of items! If we lived in Montana, we would be members in a heartbeat.

You can easily spend several hours here! The museum is really impressive and well kept. I was amazed by all the life-like dinosaur fossils (a mix of replica and real bones) found all across the state of Montana. I really enjoyed the savage ancient seas exhibition, which has the largest turtle ever lived, Archelon. Overall, a must visit for all ages!

The Museum of the Rockies has wonderful paleontology and historical displays. The traveling displays are world class. Their planetarium is a must if you visit. They have redone their gift shop which now has a nice selection of quality Made in Montana products.

The museum was a great fossil experience. Many fossils and information about Montana. The planetarium was a great space experience. I definitely recommend this museum. Family friendly for all ages.

I'm from the Easy Coast so I learning all the time here in MT. Staff were alright, no one stood out and I didn't notice anyone going out of their way for anyone around.nnI highly recommend native american history section. I was mind blown at the beading skill and art they had.nnIf you can find the 'Remember Me' quilt (in the beginning of the walk through with all the cars) definitely stop and read. It got me in my feelings about the way the quilt had traveled through many hands to end up in that museum in the end.nnOnly thing I would change is the planetarium show that's limited and many people weren't allowed in due to small capacity and have staff be more extractive with the visitors. It would be cool to see a staff member get excited about what they are there to help educate.
