I’ve called at least three times a day for the past week and I have gotten no answer on the phone. I am supposed to discuss my court order with staff before I show up for my court date and I can’t even do that! So if you need anything, I would just show up personally to the building because you will get no help over the phone.
This was my first time with any 'criminal' charge –speeding on I-17 –so I had no idea what expect. I was probably fortunate in that there were only about 6 other people waiting to appear before the judge that morning (they told us that it's normally 'standing room only') so the judge had time to address us individually. I was relieved to find that I was allowed to explain the circumstances, and it seemed to make a difference –my fine was $280 and I understand it could have been much higher.nnWhatever you do, if you have to appear before a court like this, be sure you drop everything and crawl there if you have to in order to show up; otherwise you'll REALLY be in trouble, as we were told over and over. The rich just send their lawyers.
The clerk was helpful & kind. I really appreciated the quick help she provided and her pleasant attitude. And, I got to see the charming little town of Mayer. It was like I had stepped back into the 1800's!nIt was lovely!
Worst phone system ever. It's impossible to get any help.
