Oasis State Park

A really nice spot in the middle of nowhere thus the name, an Oasis! Very quiet and family driven. Had great walks around the water and the trails.

Campsites have a picnic table and grill. There are small trails, a playground, covered picnic tables, and a manmade pond stocked with catfish. We camped and had a good night. Lots of bird activity in the morning. Clean bathrooms (pit toilets). Park deserves 4 stars, but in the morning it smelled strongly of cow poop so we quickly left. On the way out, we saw a nearby feedlot. If the wind is blowing the wrong direction, be ready to cut your trip short.

Nice for familys

Great state park near Portales New Mexico. Oasis in the desert sand dunes. Fishing, camping, and a few hiking trails.

For this part of the country it is a great little park with a man made fishing pond.. it is worth the stop
