Blackwater Draw Museum

This is a little wonderful museum on the College campus that is great for anyone interested in the Clovis people or archeology. It is free and very informative.

Nice Museum but was somewhat disappointed. The old museum told the story of Clovis Site and it's importance in anthropology. This Museum is jumbled and really with no theme. ThenMiles Anthropology collection is neat but really doesn't fit with a museum dedicated to the Clovis Site. Overall disappointed.

Good for what it is, but at a university with art, metal shops and students that need real world experience...a little imagination could see the museum so much more

At ENMU for family weekend. It's a nice little museum. Good for kids.

The Blackwater Draw Museum is best viewed together with the Blackwater site itself.The draw museum itself piggybacked onto the Miles collection of artifacts which for the most part are of more recent Native American origin.There are areas to engage children and numerous informative plaques along the walls for the inquisitive adult as well.The true wealth of the experience (besides the unbelievable experience of the site itself)is in the archeology students who man the desk at the museum and are easily engaged to answer your questions as they pertain to their field of interest and Clovis culture generally.Due in no small part to the Curator of the Museum,who genuinely enjoys exposing others to this time and moment when early human hunters engaged Mammoth and Bison Antigua as well as other megafauna of the Pleistocene.
