Horrible job handling freeway traffic after almost 24 hours of being shut down....completely unreasonable.

I want to start off by saying that we moved to Barstow, from Texas, and have not seen much kindness from anybody..... until today. I am a Disabled Veteran with back injuries and shoulder injuries so when I got a flat tire, today on I15, I was really worried about how I was going to change it (my son and I don’t really have anyone here). I had spent almost an hour trying to loosen the lug nuts and get my spare tire out, with nobody stopping to help, when Officer Castellanos pulled up. I apologized to him, multiple times, for him pulling over to help me with my flat because I know that these Officers are here everyday working to keep the public safe and changing a flat tire is not (in my opinion) what’s most important. Officer Castellanos was so gracious and kind about helping me. He went above and beyond!!!! I know it wasn’t like pulling someone out of a burning building or something but his act of kindness and professionalism meant so much to me. He kept me from aggravating some, major, injuries and ending up in a lot of pain as well as not making me feel like I burdened him. I was a Sheriff’s Deputy in Texas and my children’s father is a Detective and SWAT Officer right now so I’ve been around a lot of Law Enforcement Officers in my life but I have to say that Officer Castellanos is and would be an asset to ANY department. It was very clear that he, genuinely, cares about his job, the civilians and community that he took an oath to serve and protect!!! I would like to thank him, from the bottom of my heart, and let y’all know what an AMAZING Officer you have in Officer Castellanos. He shines a bright and positive light on his department and I feel Blessed to know that there is an Officer like him, on the job.
