Spectacular views! When you walk down to the water, the smell is a bit much. However if you wear your mask (we went during COVID-19) it will help some with the smell. The visitor center was closed for the season. Therefore we were unable to go in and look around.

Impressive rock samples! Helped my kids make the connections between minecraft and real life. Lol. Salt deposits were accessible, watch for the mud, and the thick black flies along the waters edge.

Unfortunately it was closed. It was a pretty spot to stop and take a lithe hike to the lake. There were no restrooms!! We really had to go! Luckily there's a chevron a couple of minutes down the road from this place, it was a life saver! There are a couple of cute trails here. We did one to the lake and back. It was great! What an interesting site! Highly recommended!!

Impossible to fairly rate, as it was closed due to Covid-19, when I dropped by. The perimeter does, however, have a brief walk-around from the front to the back, with placards outlining some of the ecological and natural history of the area.nWhile there appeared to be some trails accessible from this point, I struggled to find any trailheads.

The visitor center was closed when we visited. Nevertheless nice views of Mono Lake including the famous Tufa’s which are limestone deposits that forms in the lake due to its acidic level. There are trails around the visitor center so you can get a close up views of the Tufa. If your along Highway 395 heading to Lake Tahoe this is a must stop. There’s Pumice, Obsidian, Granite and Rhyolite stones near the entrance. Also a museum and the Upside Down House if you turn right from the entrance.
