Classic Cruises of Newport - Home to Schooner Madeleine & Rum Runner II

We recently went on a 2pm day cruise on the Madeline with Captain Wes. AMAZING day in every capacity. The check-in was easy and we boarded right before 2pm, leaving right on time.nCaptain Wes introduced himself upon boarding, and shortly after the other two deck crew introduced themselves casually, while working and rigging the sails. All three were extremely polite and knowledgeable.nWe had great wind and amazing weather, sailed by Rose Island before tacking and heading down to castle hill / east passage area. Upon return and lowering the sails we motored by the Newport shipyard and saw some big yachts, up close!!nFun day, great value, amazing crew, and cool music!

I have taken cruises on just about all of the schooners. My favorite is the Madeline with Captain Wes. He is not only professional but he is fun. He and the staff are very knowledgeable about the area and what you are seeing. I have learned so much from them. They are always on top of the needs of the passengers in addition to being very busy with the sails. They, like Wes are amazing. Can’t wait until October when I will be taking another cruise with them and this time I will be bringing my family. KK

Our peak of the whole weekend! The sailboat itself was a treasure to be in and the views were beautiful I wanted to learn about everything we saw. The guides (a male and female) were friendly, fun, and most importantly knew their stuff. It was also gay friendly for me and my girlfriend which is always a plus.nI would recommend this to anyone visiting Newport.

Loved our trip aboard the Madeleine this week! $38 per person and the crew was so sweet and fun. The boat is in perfect condition and nice and fast. We bought tickets right on Bowen’s Wharf. We did a 3pm trip, which is BYOB, but are going to try the mimosa one on our next Newport visit - perfect addition to our itinerary. Thanks!

Absolutely wonderful and relaxing cruise! My husband and I did the morning glory cruise and it did not disappoint. We felt very safe because everyone was wearing masks, numbers were small and everyone had plenty of space to themselves. The crew made everyone feel comfortable and the music/ambiance was great! Our ticket included mimosas and it was however many you wanted lol. Overall, wonderful wonderful cruise. I highly recommend!
