First of all, I generally do not write many reviews. Especially if they are potentially harmful for a small business, however I feel responsible to convey my experience with Dan Colon from Colon Construction so that others have an opportunity to hear from a previous client.nnMy wife and I hired Dan Colon to remodel our existing bathroom. Dan was initially very pleasant to work with and responsive. However, as soon as his team started our project, there were a multitude of problems.nnFirst, the employee that was sent to our house was extremely manipulative, unprofessional and unreliable. Unfortunately, we paid this employee an additional sum to expand the scope of our project, but we never heard from him again. Dan later admitted to us two days later that this employee was addicted to drugs and this was the reason for his erratic behavior.nnWe gave Dan a chance to rectify the situation and complete the job. From this point forward, Dan became less and less responsive and almost unwilling to complete our project.nnAt this point, my wife and I decided it was best to part ways with Dan because we felt unsafe moving forward and were more comfortable cutting our losses. When I communicated this to Dan outside our house in front of his employees and our surrounding neighbors, he became extremely hostile and attempted to call the police. He became irrational and confrontational, but he reluctantly agreed to refund us a portion of the money we paid him. I have not seen that money or heard from him since. I requested this amount of money from him on CashApp, which he used for payment, but as you may have guessed, he blocked us. Unfortunately, we are now in touch with legal professionals in order to file a claim for the agreed upon compensation that Dan said he would return.nnAfter the fact, I looked more into Colon Construction and Dan Colon. On the company website, I noticed in the Gallery that there were general stock images from Google and Pinterest that were claiming to be the 'finished product' of Colon Construction. I then looked at the 'Reviews' and noticed Dan Colon had reviewed his own company saying 'Great work! Will call again!' and then replied to his own review saying 'Glad we could help!'. The remaining 4 reviews of his company are extremely vague and undetailed, so one could easily question their authenticity. I dug further by looking up the business address on the invoice that I paid from Colon Construction and found the address to be of extremely concerning nature, which helped explain why he had initially sent a crack addict to our house (by Dan's admission).nnKnowing all of this now, I can't help but think this whole operation was a scam from get go. The only thing Dan completed with any competency or urgency was sending us invoices and collecting money from us for work that would never be completed. If you are considering Colon Construction, run far, far away save yourself from a guaranteed nightmare.nnUpdate:nI’m glad that you are now willing to have a conversation. You said you didn’t have the money to refund me the money for the cabinetry at the very least, so I gave you a month. I would appreciate that money back since you never bought materials or started that project at my house.
