This was listed as a 3-star hotel and I'd say that was being a little generous. 2 to 2.5 stars seems more accurate. The advertised Thai restaurant went out of business due to the pandemic. And all the other amenities like the pool and fitness rooms were closed.nnThere are several people who hang out near the entrance, day and night. I couldn't tell whether they worked there, were guests, or just local vagrants. They sometimes had a little grill going. It was not something I was used to seeing at a hotel (motel).nnThe room was clean. The TV only had 5 channels and those were all movie channels. The door locks looked like there was a forced entry at some point (see the photo). This fix with the keyring is unsafe and pretty useless. I never felt comfortable leaving anything of value in the room, so I always took everything with me during my 5-day stay.nnThe guy checking people in was really friendly. As was the one who checked me out.

So far... The two rooms that I booked... One was smelling like complete mildew. Unacceptable. I know this is supposed to be a hotel but I feel that it's more of a motel stay. there is misinformation. The binders that they have need to be updated because it states breakfast and if that's not something you serve from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. then remove that from the binders or remove the binders from the rooms in general. Customer service if you call down no one answers. The person that was at the front desk was kind. But again this is not a great hotel stay. And not that I expected anything fancy but it could be a little better than what it is for the prices.

The Magnuson is in my top 3 hotels in Columbus if I'm being honest it has a REALLY NICE REALLY BIG indoor heated pool 3-12ft and hot tub. Rooms are spacious and nice like the staff lol!

Giving this place 5 stars.nnReasons why..nnAffordablenAccessiblenStaffnnI wish the doors weren't so heavy cuz they slam unintentionally... doesnt help when sleeping.nnHowever if ur on the fence about this place I say stay here. Everyone at the front Desk is super helpful. All the bad reviews I read seemed like people who brought the situation on themselves. I've been here for like 2 months so u can trust my review.

This is an older hotel that has witnessed various name changes and ownership, neither of which has affected its hospitality nor customer service. I especially like the size of the rooms. You won't be bumping into each other here. Since we are in Covid 19 season, the restuarant, outdoor pool and continental breakfast weren't open. The enclosed pool (Columbus Athletic Club North) is open at a cost of $10 per person for 1 hour and 45 minutes...ah, no thank you. My tub will do just fine ud83dude06. Finally, the rate for this GIGANTIC double bed room was only $64. Cheapest around! Cheaper than Norwood Inn, Red Roof Inn, La Quinta Inn. So should you need a large room, consider the Magnuson Grand Columbus.
