Tyson was my fishing guide and went above and beyond to teach me and make sure I had an amazing experience. They supplied all equipment and was generous enough to mention cool fishing spots I could go to over the next few days that I was there. I had a wonderful time and everyone was such a professional! And super supportive of a learning fly fisherman. Thank you for making my trip to Spearfish so memorable!
Pete was our guide today and someone who is very committed to his craft. We being first time fly anglers were impressed with his love and passion for the skill of his trade. He had a calming way of instructing the art of fly fishing. We would recommend Pete and hope to come back for another visit with our grandchildren. You will catch fish with Pete!
Don't let age fool you. Gavin is wise beyond his years and the best guide we have ever had. He is the perfect blend of patient and passionate. Not only will he put you on some monster fish, he'll make sure you have a great time!
Great fly shop and great folks to talk with.nStopped in and asked for some good areas in Spearfish Creek to Czech nymph in while visiting, they gave me some good spots and they were spot on, pulled 17 browns out of those holes in 2 hours. Unfortunately Marvin the monster brown was not to be found this trip, maybe next time !
Gavin took myself and my son on our first-ever fly fishing trip, and we had a spectacular time! The experience was one we'll always remember. He was a great instructor and took us to some beautiful places (with lots of trout)! I'd highly recommend both the Spearfish Creek Fly shop and Gavin, our guide.
