After texting the owner about a car I was interested in, as well as browsing the website and attempting to call him, I made the HOUR trip up to Roy to ask if I could test drive the car. I tried calling the entire time, approximately 6 times. Never once did he answer. When we arrived, he wasn't even there, so we had lunch, and went back. He was there this time. I asked to test drive the car. He told me that, contrary to both his ads and website, the car was dead and broken, and he had ZERO other cars in the same category or price range (again, despite being surrounded by similar cars and his website saying otherwise). He was very grumpy, curt and cold. Whoever is writing his ads and website must be a completely different person. Disappointing and a waste of everyone's time, gas and money.

Oct 29 2020, I don't like to give bad reviews, but this one definitely deserves it. Ads inform you to call ahead and schedule appointments to see vehicles due to covid. Which I did, on the 28th. Scheduled me for the next day, for a certain vehicle posted online. When I made the hour trip to Roy, he told me he sold it just before I arrived... Are you kidding me!!!! NO CALL, NO TEXT, NO NOTHING.. Very inconsiderate and that's why the bad review. Keep driving!!

While online shopping for a car for my college student son, I came across a vehicle advertised by Butters Auto that seemed to fit the bill. After no response via text message inquiry, I made the 15 minute or so trip up to the lot. A gruff sandy-haired fellow was hooking up his truck to a trailer so I pulled in next to him. Rather than greeting me like I was a customer, he asked if he could help me as if I was in the wrong place. Granted it is the 3rd of July and probably a Holiday for many though I would assume a great weekend to sell cars. Anyhow, this fellow did not invite me to see the car of interest but told me that he did not have access to any keys and said that the keys to the vehicles were not in the building (almost as if I was planning some kind of a heist or something to later ‘get in and find the keys’). The whole interaction was the strangest I’ve had at a used car lot. I believe this fellow was the owner and he wanted nothing to do with selling a car on my visit to the lot. Imagine what the rest of the buying process is at Butters Auto Sales. Better skip this lot if you’re car shopping. I know I will.

Over the years, my family have bought many vehicles from Butters. I always considered him to be a good dealer. Recently I bought a vehicle that turned out to be a lemon. I can't even drive it or run it. The engine is shot and he won't stand behind his sells. For a long time customer, I was surprised. I wouldn't give any stars if it would post without them.

I'm not sure how this place is in business. The gentleman that works here (I think he is the owner) is a grouchy-rude man. We arrived 15 minutes to closing and he was annoyed we were even on the lot, we had to track him down to ask questions and were met with the worst customer service in the industry. We wanted to look at a truck he had listed online and he simply said it doesn't run, but his ad doesn't say this and the ad has been there for about a month (I didn't ask more questions as it was clear he didn't want to help us at all). We left and won't ever be back and I recommend no one go here, unless you like working with grouchy-rude individuals.
