The staff is nice, however, doctor Chmiel didn’t have answers to my questions, couldn’t properly diagnose me, and charged me for an unnecessary procedure. Don’t waste your time and money, go somewhere else.

This was hands down the worst medical and customer service experience we have ever had. To be frank, the lack of professionalism was mind-boggling, and our interactions with both Dr. Zimmer and his staff were replete with negligence and rude, insulting comments.nnAs soon as Dr. Zimmer walked in, he was cold, unpleasant, and abrupt, which added to our nerves . At the followup appointment after my boyfriend got his CT scan, he casually expressed concerns about the timeline of everything, seeking reassurance that he wasn't moving through this process too slowly. Dr. Zimmer became extremely defensive and argumentative. He said, “I object to that line of questioning” and ranted about his competence until his face was red and he was in a full-blown, enraged tantrum. We were totally taken aback and shocked. We found ourselves scrambling to string sentences together to calm him down and reframe our questions. When we reflected on the appointment with our families, they could hardly believe what they were hearing. It was unlike anything we’ve ever experienced.nnWe endured the same rude, cold temperament when speaking with Michelle, one of the office staff. When I called with a follow-up question for my boyfriend, Michelle began criticizing him to me, blatantly disrespecting him behind his back. I didn’t even know how to respond to such unprofessional comments. Finally, when we went for his blood work prior to my biopsy, the phlebotomist had to call Dr. Zimmer’s office about a discrepancy with the blood work panel that was ordered. After, she commented on the incompetence of Dr. Zimmer’s office, advising him that she “wouldn’t recommend being operated on by whoever they were.”nnUltimately, we did not feel comfortable having Dr. Zimmer perform the biopsy. Fortunately, we were able to get in contact with Dr. Belles’ office. They were able to get us a same-day appointment and the biopsy was conducted a few days later. During a stressful medical scare, you want…and deserve…to be surrounded by medical professionals who are knowledgeable and compassionate. Both were lacking at Dr. Zimmer’s office. Our advice: If you’re looking for an ENT, do NOT call Dr. Zimmer. Our recommendation would be Dr. Belles, but we’re sure anyone would give you a more favorable experience than Dr. Zimmer and his staff.

Office visit was good but the hearing test was not comprehensive enough. I wouldn't recommend this place. I would like to recommend Dr Sutton at Hearing Evaluation Services of Buffalo. 833-4488.

Have had Dr. Chmiel perform numerous ear surgeries . He and his staff are very professional. He has made my hearing much better and my ear infections greatly reduced. I have recommended him to many others and they have come away very pleased with his practice

The doctor Chmiel himself seemed very professional and knowledgeable.nnThe staff seemed somewhat cold and unresponsive upon arriving at the office but I had figured that they were just busy so I tried not to make a mention of it. I was told that there would be a $30 copay for the standard office visit. During the visit, I had a scope performed on on my throat to check up on everything which was described to me as part of a standard first visit. I later received a bill for nearly $150 in the mail because this was coded as a surgery not covered completely under my insurance. I would not have been upset with this except for the fact that this was not disclosed to me at the time of the appointment that this COULD even be a charge or considered a separately billed procedure. I called to tell them that this practice is very deceptive and that they should inform their customers up front of the services which they may be billed for even if they have not confirmed their insurance completely yet. I was told that this is just how it is and that I need to remit payment in full. The billing department receptionist sounded cold and unresponsive on the phone until I told her that I would pay, at which time she perked up and quickly took my credit card number.nnBe ware of the very deceptive billing practices at this office.
