I got stranded late at night in the ER after I had to take an ambulance to get stitches. I am new to the area so I had no car or anyone to call for a ride, very little money to my name. Getting transportation in the area is a nightmare in the daytime, let alone at midnight and even if you can manage an uber type deal or a taxi, getting to my home 20 miles away would have drained my bank account. I was ready to try to hitch a ride but the ER staff went above and beyond any of my expectations and contacted a medical taxi service who was able to get me home in the wee hours of the morning.nThey did a great job with my sutures, too.
