Very nice park although they really need better directional signs because it's tough to navigate at night when there is no sense of direction. If you are new to the park, it is simple to get lost or turned around due to the lack of street signs and directional signs throughout the park. Intersections can be real confusing at night time. If your Google Maps phone works in the camp, I advise using it.

Informative visitor center with small gift shops. Public restrooms are available. There are some interactive games/educational experiences for kids and adults. There is an ATM. You can purchase permits for the park here. There are vending machines. There are two lots for parking vehicles. Easy access to the bike path.

This is a wonderful place! The park is beautiful, the staff top-notch, and the other visitors friendly. I feel fortunate to be able to take part in their programs.

Source and headwaters of the Mississippi. You can walk across it there (take your shoes off), don't try that at New Orleans. To stay dry instead, there is a short bridgenNon-intuitively, it flows north, but quickly gets oriented and goes south.nNice Ranger station, clean rest rooms, gift shop, interpretive material.

I think this might be one of the best visitors center I've ever been to. There was lots of information on a broad variety of subjects. Wildlife, indigenous people, the logging trade and a fascinating story about how a young lady protected the park for the logging industry's abuses a 100 years ago or so. Go visit!
