Watch out for mosquitos in the woods, but the beach and island were great. I loved that you could walk over there during low tide to explore. The historic buildings had quite a bit of interesting information as well.

Timber Point is a great place for an afternoon walk. The trail is well kept. It is not table top flat, but the minor elevation changes are gradual and easy on the knees. The Ewing mansion at the end of the Point is a cool piece of history to see. Don't forget the bug spray, however. The trail runs through a salt marsh on one side and a bog on the other so mosquitoes are plentiful. Also, parking is limited at the end of Granite Point Road. Both of those factors are worth taking a trip to the end of the Point.

A lovely place to bird, enjoy nature and scenery, and walk out to Timber Island during low tide!
