Awesome View with a perfect place to sit outside and enjoy a nice day.
The Fireworks and Portland Pops this year were spectacular. We were almost directly under the display, it seemed. Well done, Portland. The crowd was respectful and represented the diversity of the Portland area. This was a good American holiday.
Visited the First Civic Monument and the surrounding beach area before leaving Portland, Maine. This area is cozy and a nice place for a picnic and to relax before a long drive back to Boston. We found parking on the street very easily, but signs were posted for July 4th and 5th that the street parking would be blocked for the holiday. So keep that in mind if you’re visiting during the Fourth of July.
Beautiful spot by the water. Perfect to lay down in the grass or to sit on the benches and enjoying the view. There is rail as you walk down closer to the water.
