To say that my experience at Ethan Hunter was amazing would be an understatement. My stylist Justin was fantastic and so unbelievably knowledgeable! It shows in his work and words that not only is he very experienced but cares as well. I walked into the salon nervous and unsure. But he very patiently walked me through my ideas and his ideas and helped me settle on a haircut that I love. I'm young but I've never been happy with a haircut I received until walking into Ethan Hunter. I will forever recommend this place to anyone. If you're unsure of whether or not to give your business to them, I assure you- you should. Thank you so much for showing me my hair is something to be boasting about!

I had THE best haircut from Justin! I really appreciated how well he listened to what I wanted, and he also offered some great advice (without it, I would have cut my hair WAY too short). I will definitely be returning for another haircut in the future!

Had a great hair cut with Justin, my hair is thick, short and not easy for many to cut. Justin is very skilled and has much experience with cutting and styling. The salon is cute, friendly and very professional, I highly recommend coming here.

SHORT STORY: I had the best haircut of my life by Justin. If you have a chance to get your haircut by him, take it. You will not be disappointed. LONG STORY: When I walked into the salon for the first time, what a warm and welcoming space it was. I couldn't help but notice the beautiful chair I sat in for the cut and I commented on it. Justin told me that the previous owner of what had been a men's barbershop was throwing it out. It was original to the space, probably from the 1920s. Justin immediately saw the beauty others overlooked. He had the handles re-porcelained, top quality leather put on the seat cushions and transformed what was once trash into treasure. He brings the same care and attention to his customers' hair. I entered the salon with a hairstyle I had for many years and left feeling transformed. Justin took the time to have a real conversation with me about my hair. He talked about the texture and asked me questions that no stylist had asked me before. I literally got a compliment from a stranger on the street within minutes of leaving the salon. If you want to rediscover the beauty of your hair, book an appointment with Justin.

One year ago I left NYC and sadly my beloved hairstylist. Three bad pandemic haircuts later I moved to Maine and gratefully discovered Jessica at Ethan Hunter Salon. I was desperate for a flattering cut and anxious about trying another salon. Jessica listened as I recounted my hair history, explaining what hair style I wanted, and what didn't work for me. She then proceeded to give me the exact cut I had described! She absolutely delivered! I finally feel happy with my head of hair again.nThe salon is welcoming, clean, and Covid careful.
