Was passing through South Dakota & ended up getting stuck in the Median on I-94. I have AAA so I called them to come pull me out. While waiting a Officer & (Fishers Auto Salvage) tow truck arrives. I asked “Robert” (tow truck driver) if he was affiliated with AAA he responded “Yes, I can give you a “slip””. The Officer gave “Robert” the go ahead to pull me out. Once “Robert” pulled me out he informed me that he wasn’t AAA affiliated & that they would just reimburse me the ($125) he charged me to pull me out that wasn’t discussed before doing the job. Long story short I was forced to pay ($125). That I didn’t have. He didn’t discuss a price before doing the job. The officer told me that if I didn’t pay him that he was going to take my car. I’m not sure if that’s legal or not.... Be careful.
